After approximately 10 years as a holding company acting as active industrial investor and business developer it has been decided to implement a new strategy: “Since 2008 the building trade has been severely affected, and the development of macroeconomic key figures continues to be uncertain. Owners and board have evaluated the VKR Holding strategy and role toward the business areas and found it timely with a change in order to increase future value”, says chairman of the board Søren Bjerre-Nielsen.

Value-adding structure

“We shall now focus on our role as financial investor. The business areas will be more self-sustaining and will manage business development and operational tasks themselves. The new strategy entails a traditional financial holding company with a lean structure, board adjustment with more financial competences and full decentralized management in the business areas. The consequence will be a reduction of employees in VKR Holding from about 80 to about half. This unfortunately means that we will have to say goodbye to many competent employees”, says Søren Bjerre-Nielsen.

New profile of CEO

With the new strategy CEO Leif Jensen has decided to resign: “The exciting and challenging tasks will disappear under the new strategy, and therefore I find it most natural that execution of the changed strategy is given to new forces. I am pleased with my nearly 10 years at the head of VKR Holding and would like to take the opportunity to thank many good and skilled employees for our achievements through the years. I wish the company and the new management every success in adding even more value in the new role as financial investor.” Jan Lundsgaard Jensen has been appointed new CEO. Jan Lundsgaard Jensen has been CFO in VKR Holding since 1 April 2006.
