VELFAC has been the project manager of Home for Life in a strategic cooperation with VELUX. The BO GRØN Award is presented by the Danish housing magazine ‘Bo Bedre’, and chief editor Erik Rimmer congratulated the winner by saying: “The development of low energy houses has come a long way with this project contribution by VELUX and VELFAC. The house is well designed and an inspiration for both building and renovation projects”, said the chief editor.
Home for Life is an experimental house that produces more energy than it consumes, has a healthy and comfortable indoor climate, and interaction with the surroundings.
The industry shows great interest in houses of the future
The house has come into being in cooperation with engineers, designers and architects:
”The challenge was to integrate functionality, aesthetics and sustainability in the house. Our ambitions were high right from the beginning. We are very satisfied with the result. The BO GRØN Award is an encouragement after several months of intensive work”, says Anders Tyrrestrup, Aart Architects.
”It is a great pleasure to receive an award for Home for Life – and an honour to all who have made a contribution to the project. The motivation puts emphasis on the fact that with this initiative the VKR Group delivers inspiration for houses of the future. On top of the award, it is very comforting to witness the great interest shown by the industry”, said Rikke Lildholt, project manager for the house opening, visits and communication.
