The Daylight and Building Component Award
In March 2011, the VILLUM AND VELUX FOUNDATIONS' Daylight and Building Component Award was made to the French architects Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal. Their designs balance aspects of daylight quality, energy consumption and low-budget economy in a humanistic and aesthetically convincing manner.
The award and grant of EUR 100,000 is made annually to an architect, researcher or artist for his or her contribution to daylight design or daylight science and to promoting interest in daylight and building components.
