The main shareholder of VKR Holding is the foundation VILLUM FONDEN. In addition to this Foundation a number of other foundations are closely connected to the VKR Group. The Foundations provide funding for non-profit projects with scientific, cultural, artistic, and social objectives and support the employees of the VKR Group.

In 2009 the Foundations granted donations of totally DKK 270 million.
